computer forensics: The Process
- Consultation - We meet with you, discuss the types of evidence we're
looking for, develop a set of keywords, and arrive at a clear understanding of
the scope of examination. We also lay out the case strategy and expected
timeline. If a search warrant and/or subpoena is needed, we work with you to
develop the language of those instruments.
- Acquisition - If the evidence is to remain in place, we go on location and
acquire forensic-level copies of all evidence. Appropriate chain-of-custody
procedures are in place at all times. If we take physical possession of the
evidence, we bring it into our lab and immediately make forensic-level copies,
after which the original evidence is securely stowed.
- Examination - Once we have forensic copies of the evidence on hand in our
lab, we begin a series of sophisticated operations to thoroughly analyze the
data for relevant material.
- Delivery of Report and Evidence - We present our findings to you, the client. At Evidence Technology, we take great pride in our work, and it will definitely show at this stage. We have spent countless man-hours developing a reporting-and-delivery system that is absolutely unsurpassed in the industry. The results of the examination will be easy to understand and access, regardless of the recipient's level of computer familiarity.
